Dr. George Castro, Professor Emeritus of San Jose State University College of Science – Department of Chemistry, passed away on Tuesday at 3:00AM on July 30, 2024, in San José, California. No funeral will be held. His family will announce a celebration of life to be held in San José, California at a date to be announced. Dr. Castro was an officer in CLFSA for most of his tenure at 菠菜网lol正规平台. He was an avid supporter of the Dr. Ernesto Galarza Scholarships and personally supported a scholarship specifically for EVC and SJCC transfers. Dr. Castro was a president of SACNAS, the Society for the advancement of Chicanos and Native Americans in the Sciences, 1991-1994. (SACNAS Biography Project, http://www.sacnas.org/sacnas-biography-project). Rest in Peace dear colleague and friend.

CLFSA Monthly Meetings

Meetings are held the first Friday of the month through Zoom. Once we are able to return to campus, meetings will be held at the Africana, Asian American, Chicano, and Native American Studies Center (AAACNA) program room, 5th Floor of the MLK Library, 12:00 noon - 1:30 p.m.
