Advising

Advisor assignments are based on the number of units a student has completed. College of Science students who have earned fewer than 60 units are assigned a major advisor in the College of Science Success Center. Students who have earned 60 units or more are assigned a faculty major advisor in the department of their declared major. All general education advising is conducted in the College of Science Success Center.

General Education (GE) Advising

All students (Freshman, Sophomores, Juniors, and Seniors) declared in a College of Science major will  receive general education advising in the College of Science Student Success Center.

Major Advising  

Have you completed 59 or fewer units?

Students who have declared a major within the College of Science and have earned 59 or fewer units are encouraged to utilize the advising services provided by the College of Science Student Success Center. These services are available to assist with questions, concerns, and recommendations related to major requirements. 

Have you completed 60 or more units?

For major advising questions, concerns, and recommendations, students with 60 or more earned units are required to connect with their designated faculty advisor in their declared major. Students can find their designated faculty advisor based on their declared major. Assignments are also available through College of Science Advising II for Juniors & Seniors on Canvas

College of Science Major Advising assignments, advising tools, and request forms can be accessed through College of Science Advising II for Juniors & Seniors on Canvas. If you do not have access to the College of Science Advising II on Canvas, please send an email to science-academicprograms@agemboutique.com in order to be added to the College of Science Advising II for Juniors and Seniors Canvas course.

Biology (BA Biology, Ecology & Evolution, Marine, Microbiology, Molecular, Systems Physiology): Refer to the Biological Sciences Department Faculty Advising Assignment page (must be accessed while logged into your 菠菜网lol正规平台 account). 

Chemistry  (BA Chemistry, BS Chemistry, Biochemistry): To contact your major advisor, refer to the Chemistry Department Faculty Advising Assignment page.

Geology (BS Geology, Earth System Science): To get in contact with a major advisor email undergradadvisor-geology@agemboutique.com

Mathematics & Statistics (BA Mathematics, BA Mathematics Integrated Teacher Education Program, Applied & Computational Mathematics, Statistics): Math majors are emailed around the beginning of every semester with their advisor's name and contact information. Please check your inbox and your spam folder for the email. If you can not find it, you may email: math-info@agemboutique.com.If you do not have an advisor, contact the lead advisor, Dr. Cayco, at bem.cayco@agemboutique.com.

Meteorology and Climate Science (BS Meteorology, Climate Science): Contact Dr. Qian Tan (qian.tan@agemboutique.com) to set up an appointment.

Physics and Astronomy (BA Physics, BA Physics Preparation for Teaching, BS Physics): Contact physics-advising@agemboutique.com to determine who your major advisor is. 

Change of Major Advising

Current College of Science students or students declared in majors outside of the College of Science who are interested in changing majors to a College of Science major, can visit the College of Science Success Center for information on the change of major process, requirements, and deadlines.
